So how did bluejackQ.com get over 1 Million page views in under four months?

The beginning
I created bluejackQ.com when I first became fascinated by the idea of bluejacking, and couldn't find a single web site dedicated to bluejacking. That was in October 2003. Within a few weeks I was astonished to see I was getting a few thousand page views per day. This was largely due to an article on www.pcpro.co.uk about bluejacking that referenced this site, and the fact that links to this site appeared in numerous Blogs worldwide.

Surviving the Slash Dot effect & BBCi on the same day
Shortly after that BBCi featured bluejackQ.com in the lead story on its technology page, and the same day we featured on Slash Dot. We warned our web host of the likely traffic the day before but all the same the server had a hard time as we got over 120,000 page views that day alone!

Media whirl
For the next few weeks life was a media whirl with requests for interviews coming in every day from media all over the world. These included BBC TV and Radio, CNN TV, US and German Radio, a full page article in The Times and national newspapers from literally all over the world including The International Herald Tribune.
