If you have a short story to tell, about how you bluejacked the odd one or two people, took the odd picture or whatever else, add it to this thread instead of making a new one. It makes it easier for newcomers to the site to read cool short posts all in one thread, and for us regulars to read how each of us is getting on with day to day bluejacking.

Basically its one long never ending bluejacking story made by the members of bluejackq.com.

It'll also help tidy up the forum a little by condensing short stories that get lots of views, but not many replies into one continuous thread. Smile

Well, as it was my idea, i'll post the first story... Laughing

Friday 19th March 2004, Sheffield city centre.

I was in MuckDonalds when along came a group of lads. Sexpest and Shefflad_1989 were my targets, sent them my signature bluejack and left. I then hit a couple of T610's in Boots, and a couple of 6310i's in the sandwhich queue in Marks & Spencer.

Then in the market place i hit a few more 6310i's as it was a pretty busy day. As i was leaving one of the department stores i saw a guy on the escalator, he had a 6310i ! So i sent him my signature bluejack message, and then as i literally chased him to stay in range i sent him another, but i cannot remember the message since it was 2 days ago ! Here he is in the picture below ! Laughing

OK people, tell us your short story of day-to-day bluejacking life ! Cool

As soon as we got into the Chinese takeaway place I whipped Sparky out and did a quick search. Nothing.

Later on, a man walked in with his daughter -discoverable. I quickly typed up a new contact - "Have a nice meal" and sent it to his T610 as fast as Bluetoothly possible. Upon hearing his phone bleep, I looked at him waiting for him to take his phone out and read his message. Nothing. His daughter then alerted him to his beeping phone, so he took it out of his pocket, read it aloud, walked over to the lady behind the counter and read it to her, retorting - "Hmm, look, I've just accepted one of these expensive messages. I normally don't accept these. Gosh I wonder how much that'll be on my bill. Sigh." obviously thinking that the restaurant had sent it to him and he wanted an explanation. Haha, I'm so evil.

Anyway, he was obviously a little nervous thinking that he had just accepted some very expensive message, so I put his mind at rest with a contact called "It didn't cost anything".

Now that just freaked him out.

nice one ellie, i was out at a local nightclub (if you can call it that) and got a couple of phones there including a man with his t610, he had been staring at his screen for a while so i sent him the contact "hi sexy" and added a picture to it of that creature out of lord of the rings with bluejackq.com in the message. his face was priceless, like a child at christmas, yet at the same time the look of confussion.

My fiance who was with me twigged at this point what i was at (she thinks its childish normally) and started to laugh when i told her what i had done. the guy carried on staring at his phone and looking around at the same time but didnt twig. i tried to send another message to him after that but i couldnt get it through to him Sad

For a tiny town i must have got about half a dozen come up, but only 3-4 i could get ocntact accepted, the others were named phones like ali g but must have been high end nokias as it wouldnt automatically accept (needed permission).

My best three most recent bluejacks were the lady in the hotel restaurant last week that I mentioned briefly, and to cut a long story short, she was three feet away on the adjacent table when she received "Enjoy your meal!"

Later I noticed she'd left her broccoli, so I sent, "Eat your greens!" as I was leaving! Very Happy

Was really proud of my sneaky photo-taking - lying down the phone on its side, angling the camera up slightly, and bam!

Really shows the proximity, methinks!

Secondly, a guy with a T610 in the Harlequin shopping centre - got "I can see you!" to him, and immediately he was on the phone.

Followed him for a bit, and waited until he was off the phone to make sure he would definitely see the next message. Eventually got "I still see you!" to him as well. And he was straight back on the phone. I prepared "Who do you keep phoning?" after thinking "Get off the phone, baldy!" would be a bit harsh! Very Happy

He was walking all over the place, and eventually headed up the escalator towards the car parks, by which time I thought he was going to leave, so I sent the "Who do you keep phoning?" message, hoping it would give him an extra bit of a fright when he finally hung up... But he was just trying to throw his Bluejacker off! He went all the way up to the top of the escalators, before walking round and heading straight back down again! I thought I should wait a second to make sure he didn't work out it was me, and got what I thought was a fantastic photo! Very Happy

He stayed on the phone for a while after that, so there wasn't much point sending him any more messages. I followed him for a bit longer when he walked past all the shops again, watching him in the shops' windows' reflections! But then my lunch break was drawing to a close, and he was still on that damn phone. So I left him in peace! Smile

Finally, and briefly, one of the funniest Bluejacks I've ever had, although you'd probably have to have been there! Was queueing to pay in TK Maxx after sending a few "I can see you"s to anyone I found in the store, but no IDs. At the queue, however, I got Jeff's 6310i, which had been set to play a *really* loud ringing tone when it received a message, so he was really easy to spot! Very Happy

Saw him in the trouser section, so I sent "New trousers?", and that was it! He was wondering round the whole shop looking in all directions, and I can still never work out what people like him are looking for! He was wearing a leather jacket, so I got "Nice leathers!" to him as well before we left... although I realised just outside the shop that if I'd added "Jeff" to the end it would have been even better! Oh well, something to remember next time! Smile

I was in Bluewater at the weekend and noticed a guy in a cue at a coffee shop with a 6310 he came up on my phone as mundeev, so i decided to send him my opening message which is always 'search for the jade monkey' with 'fusssball.....www.bluejackq.com' in the email field. As i was walking away i heard the nokia tone, and after changing direction, i looked out from behind a store directory board to see him pull his phone out of his pocket. He looked at it had a sly look around and then put it back.
I wandered back about 5mins later to see him sitting down so i sent a follow up message 'ohh wait it was in my sock' again i heard the nokia tone and again he pulled it out of his pocket looked at it and put it back.
After a while i sent 'Enjoying ur coffee?' and this time he put on his glasses and looked at the phone again and made a phone call when he was finished i sent 'I like ur glasses'. Cool
I don't know whether he thought his phone was talking to him cos he only looked round the first time. I sent a final message of 'Ur no fun' and left. Smile

Next time i think i will start trying to get pictures, the z600 is a more discrete way of getting pictures cos the camera is on the top of the flip, therefore is all ready at an angle, so u don't have to hold it up. Twisted Evil

Popped in PC World in Manc other day already had planned what i had in mind. After looking on the website i tracked down the branch and see wat they had in stock. - Isn't it annoying when you travel these miles to find an uneducated salesman to tell you they hav'nt got the dam thing in stock lol! Any to the point when i got there i knew wat i had in mind wasn't to actually buy anything, so i done the opposite. Went up to the printers and had my eyeset out to a certain one out on display, looked at it for a while, and some salesman came over thinking i was intersted in buying it. of course i played the 'i totaly don't know any thing about computers game'. I had the mobile in my pocket ready to press that send button. As i reply to his speach lol..'oh thats very clever, i dind't know you could print wirelessly from a computer', and then it suddeny started printing :'did u know it could do this..and his name' u shudda seen his face, any way i told him i'd think about buying it while he tried to suss out where the msg originally came from lol. sorry story sounded bit longer than thought lol!

Sorry guys no pics captured at the time.

On the bus this morning i found a T610, which i think belonged to the guy at the back listening to his personal CD player. I sent him ' Check your pictures ' with my attached picture bluejack:

I'm going to start sending more picture bluejacks from now on, as im starting to have some success with them. Later, i was in the Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre ( http://www.crystalpeakscentre.com ) when i sent the same picture bluejack to who i think was a woman in a fabrics shop, then to a phone that remained Unknown for the two messages i sent, including the BJQ.com URL. I also managed to get a couple of T610's with my signature bluejack but didnt manage to visually confirm any of my victims today, oh well.

I also found a 6310i in a supermarket on the way home, but didnt realise i'd found it until i checked my phones screen about 5 minutes after i commenced a search, oh well. A satisfactory bluejacking day, but not the best. Cool

On saturday I went to the pub there was one guy with a Nokia 6310i so I sent him just before the rugby started "Go England" I heard the nokia tune coming from the bar so I had a look who it was, it was the owner of the pub.

Then at half time I sent him "get a free drink" he did look very puzzled. At the end I went to him and said "Let me buy you a drink" and I did, and he figured it was me sending messages to him.

He thought it was quite funny Laughing . And I told him to come here and check it out.

Today I found a device and sent it my signature (Name: Dangermouse, and the bluejackq web address).
The conversation between the guy and his girlfriend is as follows:

GIRL: You've got a message.
GUY: Oh yeah!
GIRL: Who's it from?
GUY: I don't know
GIRL: Well have a look
GUY: It doesn't say
GIRL: It must do.
GUY: It doesn't. Hey, its put 'Dangermouse' in my address book.
GIRL: Dangermouse?
GUY: Yeah. <then the guy lists some of his mates> must have sent it.
GIRL: I wonder how they did that?!

At this point I then attempt to send him the Dangermouse midi file.

A few minutes later I hear the familar theme tune of Dangermouse and have to bite my tongue to stop myself laughing!!!! Laughing

Dangermouse, that is just so awesome, so awesomely awesome that I am breaking the rules and am just posting this post as a compliment and not with a short story. Nobody else follow my footsteps. They're naughty footsteps.

You bad girl Ellie ! Mad

Anyway back to topic.. Thursday 25th March 2004 - Sommerfields supermarket

I went to the supermarket after work to pick up some groceries, and to my suprise i found a T610 while i was in there. I sent it the BJQ.com URL and then couldnt send any more. Normally i find it hard to find any Bluetooth devices in supermarkets, especially in the area i live in - so i was quite suprised when i also found a 6310i. I sent ' www.bluejackQ.com ' to it and pricked my ears up. I then heard that monophonic ' message received ' tone come from the next aisle. I started giggling to myself, and after about 30 seconds i sent another ' Please come to managers office ' - and once again i heard the beeping. I walked round the corner onto the next aisle to see a middle aged man getting out a 6310i, looking rather puzzled at the message on his screen. I was about to take a picture but he turned around and looked at me so i hid my phone. His wife was also wondering what was going on too, as she had her eye on me, so i didnt manage to get a picture. Anyway, i then walked off and considered waiting for him outside to send another message, but i wanted to get home so i didnt bother. It happened less than an hour ago, and it was a giggle, so as soon as i got home i came straight on BJQ to tell people about it ! Wink

All day today i didnt find a single easy phone to bluejack, everyone i found was a damn manually accepting Nokia. Then as i was sat on the 52 bus going to Broomhill and saw a guy move to a seat when some people got off, so he could have 2 seats to himself. As he sat down i noticed he was carrying a house brick. Then i realised it wasnt really a piece of masonry, but was actually a Nokia 7650.

So i got up, and went to sit in the seat in front of him, so i could have 2 seats to myself. I expected to see Nokia 7650 to appear on my screen, and it did so. I sent him my picture bluejack, which he must have manually accepted straight away as it got through, and i could hear him mumbling to himself wondering how this strange message got on his screen and the picture got in his pictures folder. I even heard him say ' bluejacked ? ' under his breath. I then tried to send the BJQ.com URL but it wouldnt get through. Just as he was getting off i tried a last time and it got through ! Laughing

It was so funny, i was sat right in front of him and could hear his puzzled mumbling in my ear. I hope he comes to the site ! Laughing
