Yeah, looks entirely unimpressive to me, but I guess that's kinda the point. Seems like you could probably get a better spec'd player for the same price, but with less style... oh well, it's not as if I need one! Smile

I got the new firmware for my iPod last night, with added "shuffle" ability, expecting some new feature... but found no difference. Confused

Looks quite nice, but then again I have always been a fan of apples design.

Has some advantages though over the normal ipod, obviously its flash based so it wont skip at all so its better for runnners, etc. And its smaller, but as KD said, you could get a similar unit for half the price.

Its only 60 quid!

If you think USB sticks are 30 quid for 256 mb, thats good going! it not only holds data, but plays music, and looks cooool!

Actually the 512mb model is £69. You may also want to keep an eye out for the Mac Mini Priced around £300:

I think it looks good, but its features are a little lackluster, which explains the price i guess Smile

I don't understand. Why must we pay $637 for the $499 Mac mini and $130 for the $99 iPod shuffle?! Evil or Very Mad

After saying that, I just read this, and now I want an iPod Shuffle. I think I'm going to buy the 512MB one! Very Happy

It's the fact you can plug it into iTunes and it will fill the Shuffle with randomly selected songs so that you can genuinely have no idea what you're getting, especially with the lack of screen. I use shuffle on my iPod all the time, but I'll skip through loads of songs that I'm not really bothered about - I think with the iPod Shuffle I'd take the time to listen to some songs I've never heard before (thanks to the few gigs of songs downloaded using the iTunes LAN app at uni). Smile

Edit: changed my mind again now I think! Just discovered how to create random playlists using iTunes instead! Very Happy Fickle? Me?! Wink

i want one aswell!

iPods are great, because if you dont own a laptop, you can put thousands of songs on and listen forever.

iPod shuffles are designed for those that are online all the time, and always have access to a computer, so daily, you can change your playlist, which is a much more cheaper way of doing things!

that is why i think its a good idea!

Did you read my edit? If you've got an iPod, iTunes can do Smart Playlists that can do the same thing a Shuffle does. I've created a 100-song playlist called "the dan shuffle" that I'm listening to without skipping unless I really have to. When I'm finished with it I'll re-randomise it and shoot that over to my iPod! Smile

but that doesnt, imho, justify a 200 pound price!!!

Oh so you don't have an iPod already? I guess I assumed you did and wanted a Shuffle as well. Smile If you want a normal flash-based player, I'd recommend a normal flash one with a screen etc. or just a memory card for your phone if you've got one that includes a media player.
