Personally, running a variety of OSes on IA32 compatible processors, I think the argument of PC vs Mac is rather pointless. Comparing Windows vs OS X is more valid perhaps?
PCs do have the advantage of a huge range of both software and hardware. This range is a little more limited for Mac machines, simply because no-one's bothered to write drivers for the hardware.
Then again, OS X is BSD with a pretty GUI on it. As such, there's plenty of existing software from *BSD that's fairly easy to move across to OS X. On the other hand, you can run *BSD on a PC pretty easily. (Or on SPARC, MIPS or whatever.)
So, the end result is, what suits the way you work best?

As for games, there is a sufficient amount of decent games for Mac, but of course there's a huge number more for PC.

, I found and read a list of all the games that had been ported to MAC once, it was bloody huge.
I've never used a MAC myself personally, but besides my internet browser and trillian, I'd say that itunes is my favorite peice of software on this computer, so I'd say I'm like ellie, I'd love a MAC (and I intend to purchase one when I can afford it), but I also like windows and its compatablity with oodles of 3rd party software (even though as robatashen said, there is probably everything I'd need on a MAC, plus extras)
On another note, dont let this turn into a "You cant right click on a MAC" topic, we all now very well that OS X supports 2button USB mice....Even check there website, there is some MS mice on there.
